According to The Huffington Post, Conservative Sen. Dan Patrick has filed a bill preventing “ethnic studies” from being counted towards a core history requirement. The bill, SB 1128, would instead require courses on United States, and Texas, history instead. “We’re here to snuff out Dan Patrick’s SB 1128,” said Tony Diaz, also known as “El Librotraficante,” to The Huffington Post. “We’ve learned from our brothers and sisters in Arizona how hard it is to get a law off the books, so we’re here to nip it in the bud.”
