Fox News Latino is reporting that the solenodon, a rare endangered species, was being kept by a woman in El Seibo. The animal was turned over to the Department of Environment, and it is being examined for its health (fortunately, it’s so far, so good!). According to the Environment Ministry, the animal is endangered because of deforestation.
