According to ABC News, Antonio de la Rua — who was with Shakira for ten years — is suing for back royalties and other fees owed. He claims that he was the reason for “Hips Don’t Lie” becoming the success that it was, and he was also responsible for her deal with LiveNation. Finally, he contends that even after he & Shakira ended their personal relationship, she agreed to maintain their professional relationship. When she didn’t, he sued her in court.
