    MaxwellMaxwell

Thanks to his neo-soul style of music and his eclectic fashion sense, this singer has always been labeled by many as African-American.  But that’s not the case at all.  While the singer himself was born in Brooklyn, New York, Maxwell’s father was born and raised in Vieques, Puerto Rico, and his West Indian mother grew up in Haiti. Tragically, his father died in a plane accident off the coast of Puerto Rico when Maxwell was only three years old.

While the Hollywood actress is primarily type cast in African-American roles, the “Think Like a Man” star is part-Puerto Rican via her paternal grandmother’s side.  Meagan, who just married producer and preacher DeVon Franklin, is not only gorgeous but she is also a Christian woman who says that she only selects roles that won’t “disappoint God”.

Although the pint-sized reality star is a self-proclaimed Jersey Shore guidette, a not-so-politically correct term regularly used when referring to Italians, Snooki is actually 100% Latina.  She was born in Chile but was later adopted by her Italian-American parents.

    Tatyana AliTatyana Ali

This ’90s sitcom star who starred alongside Will Smith in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is half-Panamanian. Thanks to the television special “On Pastport: Panama,”we got to tag along as the actress-musician explored her family history with a life-affirming trip to her Mother’s native Panama.

Although the Brooklyn, New York, rapper was raised by his African-American mother, his absentee father was Dominican.  Thanks to the VH1 reality show “Love & Hip Hop,” we got to see that Fab went with his Dominican side when choosing his longtime girlfriend and the mother of his son, Emily Bustamante, whose father also happens to be Dominican.
