A horror cult classic is coming back to life in the form of a miniseries for NBC – and Zoe Saldana is rumored to have been casted in the lead role. According to Deadline, Saldana has been tapped to play Rosemary in the adaptation of the 1967 novel by Ira Levin.

The book had been made into a movie in 1968, starring Mia Farrow and directed by Roman Polanski.

The new miniseries will center around Rosemary (Saldana) who moves into a Paris apartment with her husband that has a “dark past”. Not to get too in depth (spoilers!), Rosemary, when pregnant, becomes increasingly paranoid that her husband and neighbors seek to control the future of her child.

“Zoe has proven that she is one of our most gift actresses,” NBC’s head of longform Quinn Taylor said. “We think she has the perfect combination of spirit and gravitas to take on the title role from Ira Levin’s infamous novel.”

Production on the series is set to begin shortly in Paris. The 1968 movie version was shot in New York City.
